Doug 1964 - Chongwe River about 15 kms upstream from the Zambezi, Lusaka East

He has worked in the bush in a number of countries over the years and spent a lot of time in the Zambezi Valley areas working as a Geological Field Officer for Chartered Exploration Ltd, building bush camps and surveying access roads and general geological sampling.

During these times he developed an intense love of the desolate areas of Africa, in particular the Zambezi Valley and escarpment (Feira Prohibited Area), now Lower Zambezi Game Reserve.

"BWANA TWOBOY"  was my nickname given by the Africans with whom I worked due to my size.

"White Jim"- The best chef in the Valley - formerly at Shiwa Ngandu Estates - Paulwi Hill 1964

"Once upon a Time" - Doug 1964 - at my Musangombi Camp near Paulwi Hill asbestos prospect - both were shot with a single bullet (375 H&H)

Hunting Pig in the Zambezi Valley area - in the "good old days" shooting for the pot was essential - upstream from where Sausage Tree Camp is today

Doug's camp - Paulwi Hill, Zambezi Valley Escarpment - 1964

Maluti beer - Sani Pass Top Chalet - 2003
