DRIVE CAREFULLY IN THE MOUNTAINS

The Mountain Passes of Lesotho are truly something very special for the visitor. The scenery is as beautiful as it is spectacular and from one end of Lesotho to the other there are more and more mountains and passes.

For those into 4x4 routes - beware - this country will be addictive. Not only are they challenging but also dangerous and only experienced 4x4er's should consider them and then only with someone who knows the country. The weather can be very unpredictable and no chances should ever be taken.

If there is any chance of snow you should have snowchains in your vehicle. There is no room for error on the major passes and driving "on your gears" is recommended most of the time.

DRIVING: 4x4 required most of the year - I personally would only use a proper 4x4
