BEWARE MALARIA - THERE ARE "MOZZIES" LIKE MIGS HERE

Beira is the capital of Sofala province. The city has little industry and most of the damage has been caused by the almost 30 years of war. The people are friendly and making the best of what they have. Being more isolated they will take much longer to recover than Maputo which gets the benefit of new industry and more aid.

The is progress but it is slow. The high rainfall is a problem in the area with malaria being common and outbreaks of cholera occur regularly.
