YOU NEED A 4X4 FOR THIS TRIP - DO NOT ATTEMPT OTHERWISE - THE WEATHER WILL CATCH YOU OUT

The Sani Pass climb is something just not to be missed, particularly when there have been winter snows. The magnificent scenery and the many twists and turns in this occasionally scary trip up the pass make any Sani Pass trip memorable. Only proper 4x4 vehicles are allowed to complete this trip. For those who don't have 4x4's - you can still go up and down the pass as trips are run from Underberg and Himeville for tourists.

Never underestimate the changeability of the weather in Lesotho. A common truth is that you can have four seasons in one day, so be prepared.

Sani Pass is part in Lesotho and part in South Africa with a rather vague border.
